This vulnerability is related to **CORS origin validation**, where the Gradio server fails to validate the request origin when a cookie is present. This allows an attacker's website to make unauthorized requests to a local Gradio server. Potentially, attackers can upload files, steal authentication tokens, and access user data if the victim visits a malicious website while logged into Gradio. This impacts users who have deployed Gradio locally and use basic authentication. Users are advised to upgrade to `gradio>4.44` to address this issue. As a workaround, users can manually enforce stricter CORS origin validation by modifying the `CustomCORSMiddleware` class in their local Gradio server code. Specifically, they can bypass the condition that skips CORS validation for requests containing cookies to prevent potential exploitation.","title":"Description of the CVE"},{"category":"legal_disclaimer","text":"CSAF 2.0 data is provided by SUSE under the Creative Commons License 4.0 with Attribution (CC-BY-4.0).","title":"Terms of use"}],"publisher":{"category":"vendor","contact_details":"https://www.suse.com/support/security/contact/","name":"SUSE Product Security Team","namespace":"https://www.suse.com/"},"references":[{"category":"external","summary":"CVE-2024-47084","url":"https://www.suse.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-47084"},{"category":"external","summary":"SUSE Security Ratings","url":"https://www.suse.com/support/security/rating/"},{"category":"external","summary":"SUSE Bug 1231525 for CVE-2024-47084","url":"https://bugzilla.suse.com/1231525"}],"title":"SUSE CVE CVE-2024-47084","tracking":{"current_release_date":"2025-12-19T01:00:02Z","generator":{"date":"2024-10-12T02:48:49Z","engine":{"name":"cve-database.git:bin/generate-csaf-vex.pl","version":"1"}},"id":"CVE-2024-47084","initial_release_date":"2024-10-12T02:48:49Z","revision_history":[{"date":"2024-10-12T02:48:49Z","number":"2","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-10-18T02:50:19Z","number":"3","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-01-01T00:38:46Z","number":"4","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-01-12T00:18:42Z","number":"5","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-02-14T04:25:47Z","number":"6","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-02-16T04:17:55Z","number":"7","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-12-17T00:58:06Z","number":"8","summary":"description changed"},{"date":"2025-12-19T01:00:02Z","number":"9","summary":"description changed"}],"status":"interim","version":"9"}}}
