Since that range of memory corresponds to PFNs\nbelow ARCH_PFN_OFFSET, mm initialization runs off the beginning of\nmem_map and corrupts adjacent kernel memory. Fix this by restoring the\nprevious behavior for NOMMU kernels.","title":"Description of the CVE"},{"category":"legal_disclaimer","text":"CSAF 2.0 data is provided by SUSE under the Creative Commons License 4.0 with Attribution (CC-BY-4.0).","title":"Terms of use"}],"publisher":{"category":"vendor","contact_details":"https://www.suse.com/support/security/contact/","name":"SUSE Product Security Team","namespace":"https://www.suse.com/"},"references":[{"category":"external","summary":"CVE-2024-35987","url":"https://www.suse.com/security/cve/CVE-2024-35987"},{"category":"external","summary":"SUSE Security Ratings","url":"https://www.suse.com/support/security/rating/"},{"category":"external","summary":"SUSE Bug 1224563 for CVE-2024-35987","url":"https://bugzilla.suse.com/1224563"}],"title":"SUSE CVE CVE-2024-35987","tracking":{"current_release_date":"2025-07-02T00:30:02Z","generator":{"date":"2024-05-21T01:58:28Z","engine":{"name":"cve-database.git:bin/generate-csaf-vex.pl","version":"1"}},"id":"CVE-2024-35987","initial_release_date":"2024-05-21T01:58:28Z","revision_history":[{"date":"2024-05-21T01:58:28Z","number":"2","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-05-23T15:06:52Z","number":"3","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-05-23T15:15:22Z","number":"4","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-05-31T03:10:32Z","number":"5","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-07-03T03:20:49Z","number":"6","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-07-19T02:43:28Z","number":"7","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2024-07-23T02:19:55Z","number":"8","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-01-01T01:06:08Z","number":"9","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-01-04T01:08:28Z","number":"10","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-02-14T04:59:32Z","number":"11","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-02-16T04:52:13Z","number":"12","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-06-26T00:58:58Z","number":"13","summary":"Current version"},{"date":"2025-07-02T00:30:02Z","number":"14","summary":"Current version"}],"status":"interim","version":"14"}}}
