That's correct.

But - believe it or not - there are people that want some *other* stuff
to go into the RAM as well.

:-D

Having your RAM filled with KDE surely gives you a nice desktop but
if the machine cannot calculate its databases anymore (or whatever
it should do) inserting a bit more RAM /might/ be an option.
