Terminal Gets allocated, but X does not work

 Hi,

    Thanks a lot Michele and Stephen. Both the solutions worked.

    I could not do a console login also earlier, I was working in the
maintenance mode.

    When I copied from Linux (Redhat 6.2 ) /dev/ to mulinux/dev I could
logon and the error regarding "pseudo-terminals" was corrected

     also when I used mkfs without any additional options I could work with
the muLinux Kernel (a more elegant option)

    I still cannot Start X windows properly (I only get a blank Sky- blue
screen- i am using the default window manager)

    The errmsg in "/var/log/startx.log" states

   " xinit: Connection to X server lost

      waiting for X server to shutdown "

     Could you help me the solution to this problem.
