I believe the mount command must be in inittab or the rc scripts to mount
filesystems other than root at bootup.

hi there,
another thing i'm not able to get working like i want to is mounting a
partition (/dev/hdc1) automatically when mulinux gets up.
i added the following line to /etc/fstab:
'/dev/hdc1 /myhd auto defaults 0 0'
when i enter 'mount /dev/hdc1' on the commandline it works but after
booting the system, the mountpoint is empty :-(
what is my mistake?
thanks
stephan
