Hi,
after several months now there's another release of
the assembler written micro editor "e3".
http://sax.sax.de/~adlibit/e3-1.5.tar.gz
Most new stuff is related to the vi emulation mode, i.e.
new commands & fixed commands (h,l,a,yy,d'a,y'a,D,C,r etc.)
To emulate vi much better: for the first time e3 now is able
to beep :-) in case of wrong input ***
By default "make" now uses "gzexe" for compressing e3,
because the result is better than using "UPX" compressor.
There are some other fixes also. Just try it!
---------------------For the newbies on this list--------------------------
e3 is a text micro editor with a compressed code size less than 10000 bytes.
Except for 'undo' and 'syntax highlighting', e3 supports all of the basic
functions one expects. If you have installed the stream editor 'sed' or 'ex'
you can use these tools as sub-processes, getting the full power of regular
expressions.
e3 can use Wordstar-, EMACS-, Pico, Nedit or vi-like key bindings, whichever
the user chooses.
e3's assembler version is primary available on Linux. FreeBSD and BeOS are
also possible, but there is also a GNU-C-written versions for non-i386-Unix.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers,
Albrecht
PS: footnote ***
Configure via %define BEEP_IN_VI if you really like that kind of noise.
