Maybe this is very stupid question, but have you remembered to set the boot disk in the BIOS to floppy?

Have just tested again - running as root to make sure there
are no permission problems.
Following occurs:
[root@localhost mu]# rm -Rf *
[root@localhost mu]# tar xfz ../mulinux-11r12.tgz
[root@localhost mu]# ./mu -i 1
-----------------------------------
muLinux V11r12
-----------------------------------
Choice : 1.
Insert BOOT+ROOT+USR floppy
Do You want to superformat it (y/n) ? [y]>
-----------------------------------
superformat: please wait ...
-----------------------------------
Double-sided, 82 tracks, 21 sec/track. Total capacity 1722
kB.
Formatting ... done
Verifying ... done
-----------------------------------
copy BOOT+ROOT+USR ...
-----------------------------------
Done. Reboot now.
[root@localhost mu]#
All looks correct but upon rebooting the floppy disk is
ignored and my box boots from the hard disk.
Have tried the same with v11r8 which produces a bootable
floppy which reboots into mulinux.
Hope this helps.
