I think many folks aren't aware of everything that netcat can do....
I know about 75% of the "rustic network apps" on the old "base floppy" were powered by netcat.
Maybe I should add the original Unix netcat "readme" to the backroom server...................along with the scripts that were included in the original source distribution????
