thanks for the help. i got it to work.
i saw that k1 was the F1 key in linux emulation.
in the sco machine i copied the vt100 emulation set and modified F1
(k1=\E[[A) instead of it's default of k1=\E[[OP). what was confusing is
there was an additional setting for F1 that i was changing. i didn't know
that k1 was the F1 key.
it worked. thanks.
