I'd like to inform you of a nice new feature of Pion file manager:
now it support some hyper-rustic form of Virtual File System (VFS),
as Midnight Commander.
You can change_dir to URL like:
ftp://password:user@host/dir/file
This bring you uniformly in the remote ftp directory, browsing in
the standard way, with normal functions keys.
I plan to add other kind of URL's, like nfs://, samba://,
floppy://, cdrom:// etc.
Pion, as ftp client, is a connectionless client. It use a new
ultra-small binary, "ftpget" (4k!!); I made it stripping ftp part of
snarf, plus my hack. ONE connection, ONE activity.
Syntax:
ftpget -h host [-u user -p password ] -d dir
-f file [ -c command ]
With -c I can to send command like mkdir, rmdir, etc.
ftpget can be useful for batch ftp download also.
Warning: this stuff is not in update.tgz yet.
