GNU Source Code CDs include no compiled programs, so you will need a C compiler and some skills in order to run the software. We ship C compiler tools for some systems on the GNU Compiler Tools Binaries CD-ROM and the GNU Software for MS-Windows and MS-DOS. GNU packages that need another compiler or interpreter normally provide the C source for a bootstrapping program.
Source Code CD-ROM #14 was released in August of 1999. The 14th edition contents and manifest are posted here. Contents is an alphabetical list of package names and version numbers. Manifest (70K) is a long list of brief descriptions of each top-level text file and each program package.
