Familiar v0.5

[Introduction]

Familiar v0.5 is the latest stable release from the Familiar Project. This release provides numerous user-land and kernel-space changes and fixes, as well as new ``support'' for the H3100 series of Compaq iPAQ (look to v0.5.1 for framebuffer fixes).

Some of the changes found in Familiar v0.5.

• Carl Worth's new xstroke character recognition.
• mallum's xkbd virtual keyboard.
• Updated X environment.
• New GNU libc.
• Based on Handheld.org's latest 2.4.7-based kernel release.
• Support for dual-sleeve expansion by default.
• Kernel and bootloader parameter partitions are no longer used. All data is now loaded from the root filesystem.
• dillo (the webbrowser provided by Familiar) has been updated to the latest revision.
